Our Cozy Fall Bedroom Refresh

Cozy fall bedroom refresh with layered linen bedding, a fringed area rug, and warm sconce lighting

Fall always makes me want to nest, and nowhere more than our bedroom. We spent the last few weeks giving ours a full refresh: swapping in linen bedding, grounding the room with a bigger rug, and adding a little warmth with lighting. Here’s everything we used, in case you want to cozy up your own space this season.

The Foundation

Everything started with the bed itself. We picked the Dalton Storage Bed Frame, Queen from Castlery, it’s got a low, upholstered profile that feels calm rather than fussy, plus built-in storage underneath that’s already come in handy for extra linens.

Layered, Organic Bedding

This is where the cozy really comes from. We built out a full linen layering system from Quince: a gingham sheet set as the base, a duvet cover for warmth, a channel-stitch coverlet to fold at the foot of the bed, feather pillow inserts, and matching gingham euro shams to dress it all up. Linen has this slightly rumpled, lived-in texture that just feels like fall.

Grounding It with a Rug

The room needed a bigger rug. We sized up to a 10’x13′ fringed area rug from Wayfair, and it made the whole space feel intentional instead of like the furniture was just floating in the middle of the floor.

Finishing Touches

Last, we swapped in a lower dresser and added plug-in wall sconces on either side of the bed for soft, warm light without any rewiring.

We’re already half-tempted to redo the guest room next. If you end up trying any of this in your own space, tag us, we’d love to see it.
